SA Masters Games to be held in Port Pirie
18th – 21st March 2027

Planning is well underway, with Port Pirie Regional Council working closely with Sport SA, local sporting organisations, volunteers and partners to deliver a vibrant program expected to feature 26 sports and encourage participation from people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
Over the coming months, Sport SA will engage with regional sporting clubs as part of the planning process, providing local clubs with an opportunity to contribute ideas, share their expertise and help shape the Games from the outset.
More than a sporting event, the South Australian Masters Games celebrates participation, connection, active lifestyles and positive mental and physical wellbeing.
Please Note: sports are only confirmed once registrations open.
As all sports rely on volunteers, we’re still finalising which ones will run. We’re aiming to open registrations on 1 November, with classes and events confirmed soon after.

| We’re excited to announce that the 21st Australian Masters Games will be held in Newcastle and the Central Coast from 13–20 November 2027, marking the return of the Games to New South Wales for the first time since 2001. The 2027 event will also be a special milestone, celebrating 40 years of the Australian Masters Games, which first began in Tasmania in 1987 and has grown into Australia’s largest regular multi-sport festival. For one unforgettable week, thousands of participants from across Australia and overseas will come together to compete, reconnect with friends, discover new sports and enjoy everything these two iconic coastal destinations have to offer. |
